Iowa wrapped up the 2024-25 regular season in strong fashion, beating Wisconsin 81-66 in emphatic fashion on Senior Day on Sunday. That win wrapped up an 8-2 finish to the regular season for Iowa and left the Hawkeyes at 20-9 overall and 10-8 in Big Ten action. That finish was good for a tie for 8th in the Big Ten standings. After tiebreakers, that worked out to the 11-seed in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament.

As a result, Iowa gets... an immediate rematch with Wisconsin. Iowa will play 14-seed Wisconsin in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament, at approximately 7:30 PM CT on Wednesday, March 5. The game will air on Peacock.

In the new 18-team Big Ten Tournament, only the top-15 teams in the league standings qualify for the Big Ten Tournament. The teams that finish 16th, 17th, and 18th in the Big Ten standings are eliminated from contention.

With the new format, the teams seeded 10th through 15th play on Wednesday, the first day of Big Ten Tournament action. The teams seeded 5th through 9th receive byes and begin play on Thursday, while the teams seeded 1st through 4th receive double-byes and begin play on Friday.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5

2:30 PM CT 12-seed Washington vs 13-seed Minnesota (Peacock)

5:00 PM CT 10-seed Nebraska vs 15-seed Rutgers (Peacock)

7:30 PM CT 11-seed Iowa vs 14-seed Wisconsin (Peacock)

This is what the Thursday match-ups will look like:

THURSDAY, MARCH 6

11:00 AM CT 8-seed Oregon vs 9-seed Indiana (BTN)

1:30 PM CT 5-seed Michigan vs Washington/Minnesota (BTN)

5:30 PM CT 7-seed Illinois vs Nebraska/Rutgers (BTN)

8:00 PM CT 6-seed Michigan State vs Iowa/Wisconsin (BTN)

So Iowa will need to beat Wisconsin and then Michigan State in order to advance to the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament. The Hawkeyes would face 3-seed Ohio State in the quarterfinal round.

A game against Wisconsin won't do a lot to boost Iowa's standing in the NCAA Tournament, but wins over Michigan State and potentially Ohio State could certainly improve the Hawkeyes' standing with the NCAA Selection Committee.

Of course, Iowa is also the three-time defending Big Ten Tournament champions and enters this year's tournament on a 9-game winning streak. Last year, Iowa defeated Nebraska 94-89 in overtime to win a third-straight Big Ten Tournament championship.

The 2025 Big Ten Tournament is being held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, from March 5-9, 2025. Games will be televised on Peacock, BTN, and CBS.
