South Hamilton linebacker Logan Klemp is a new prospect to follow in the Class of 2018 with interest from Iowa, Iowa State, and several others.

“Lately, I’ve been talking to Iowa State quite a bit," said Klemp. "I have been down for their junior day, spring practices, and they invited me to their spring game. I talked to Iowa and I went down to a practice there. There are also a number of FCS schools like South Dakota State, South Dakota, and a number of others.”

The trip was something that Klemp had heavy praise for overall.

“Their facilities were unbelievable," Klemp said. "Their practice was real intense. It was real nice overall.”

Klemp is interested to see where recruiting goes with the Iowa staff.

“We just started the process with Iowa," he said. "They are looking at me at that linebacker spot.”

The staff for the Hawkeyes made sure they let Klemp know how they felt about him early.

“Coach Morgan called me and said he saw my film," said Klemp. "They were interested in me. They invited me to a practice. It was just over a phone call.”

Klemp likes Iowa overall but is taking recruiting slowly overall.

“They were nice but I am not really in a position to play favorites yet," Klemp said. "I got some good things going and definitely looking forward to seeing what happens with Iowa and Iowa State.”

Iowa City is among the places that Klemp plans to camp at this summer.

“I’ll get over to Iowa and maybe a couple of ones at Iowa State," he said. "I might try South Dakota State and then we’ll see.”

Klemp has continued to stay busy as a multiple sport athlete as of late.

“I am in track right now," said Klemp. "During the winter, we had a state basketball team. I have been in the weight room four times a week and doing football workouts.”

There are some areas of his game that Klemp is focused to get better at.

“Just flexibility, speed, and overall athleticism," Klemp said. "We are working on ball stuff too.”
