New 2018 Offer: Jalen Mayfield

The Iowa Hawkeyes are the latest team to offer Class of 2018 prospect Jalen Mayfield. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Mayfield received the news from Iowa recruiting coordinator Kelvin Bell, who likes the Michigan native's ability on both sides of the ball.

"He said they evaluated my film and really loved how I can play multiple positions and how I'm athletic for my size," said Mayfield, who plans to visit Iowa's junior day in March. "They said I could play either side of the ball."

At Grand Rapids Catholic Central, Mayfield is dominant as an offensive tackle and defensive end, which has helped him pick up early scholarship offers from Iowa, Cincinnati, Western Michigan, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Toledo, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, and Miami of Ohio.

"I am so excited and very fortunate to get this opportunity," Mayfield said.
