Ballard offensive tackle Kale Krogh and his 6-foot-6, 250-pound frame has continued to draw attention from the University of Iowa as he visited Iowa City before shutdowns began.

“(It was) really great," said Krogh. "I talked with a lot of coaches and learned a lot about the program with what they have to offer and what they believe in. It was awesome just seeing the facilities and hearing the coaches and players talk.”

Krogh mentioned a number of different aspects of the trip that stood out most to him.

“My favorite part was hearing about the program and how it’s stable," Krogh said. "The coaching staff has all been there for a while together. All the coaches wanted to talk there, and they wanted to get to know us players. Not only this, but they all are extremely good and have the history to prove it including Coach Ferentz."

"If you go to Iowa, you know exactly what you are going to get. It won’t be easy and you’re going to have to work for everything, but you’re not on your own. They are going to provide you with everything needed for you to be successful and be the best football player you can be. When the coaches and players were talking, you could really feel how tight they are with one another and understand at Iowa it’s more than just a game, it’s family. It’s a brotherhood and everyone’s got your back. Previous players also come back to the program to work out and train at Iowa."

"You weren’t going to come out of Iowa as just a great football player, but also a man. You will come out ready and educated for the real world. All in all, my favorite part was hearing what Iowa football was really like and I heard every aspect of it.”

His time in Iowa City allowed Krogh to develop his relationships with a number of different staff members.

“I had good long conversations with Jay Niemann, Ken O’Keefe, Tim Polasek, Scott Southmayd, and a few more during the visit," he said." Each of the conversations were also bigger than football and pertained to life. I also shorty talked with Kirk Ferentz.”

Krogh mentioned that the staff praised what they have seen of him as a player thus far.

“They said that they are looking at me, liked what they saw on tape, and that there are a couple of 2022 players they are looking at for the OL," said Krogh. "They liked that I am an Iowa kid and they wanted to see me again.”

The Hawkeyes have been aware of Krogh since last year.

“Iowa first came to see me as a freshman and from there it became better," Krogh said. "They have come to see me multiple times. I talked on the phone multiple times and they send things to my coach for me quite frequently. Along with the invitation to junior day, I have received an invite to spring ball, and they were making sure I will be at their camps.”

Krogh mentioned the Hawkeyes among three colleges that have been showing him early attention.

"I’ve been being recruited by Iowa, Iowa State, and Missouri.

Both in-state programs have been able to get Krogh onto their campus.

“I have attended a game day visit at Iowa State along with junior day visits to both Iowa and Iowa State.”

Krogh had originally meant to get back to both schools.

“I have plans to attend spring ball at Iowa and Iowa State.”

Each of the programs have caught the attention of Krogh since he was younger.

“Growing up so close to Ames means I watched a lot of the Cyclones, but my dad went to Iowa, so I also watched a lot of the Hawkeyes.”
