In-state defensive lineman Aaron Graves, who was Iowa's first commit in the Class of 2022, finally had a chance to make his official visit with the Hawkeyes this weekend. For the 6-foot-5, 270-pound Graves, it was nice to get back on campus and see everyone in person again, including new strength coach Raimond Braithwaite.

"Visiting with the players and recruits was such a good time," said Graves. "Just being around them this weekend I had a blast. Also, I really loved talking to Coach Braithwaite as well because I love the weight room."

Graves, who committed to Iowa two years ago after earning an offer at camp his freshman year, was able to spend a lot of time around the current players this weekend.

"John Waggoner was my host and I was with Joe Evans, Seth Benson, Sam LaPorta, Riley Moss, and a few others as well," Graves said.

As a Rivals250 prospect that will play in the All-American Bowl in San Antonio in January, Graves has the talent and versatility to play inside or outside on the defensive line, which is something Iowa defensive line coach Kelvin Bell discussed with him this weekend.

"He said he counts on the defensive line to be versatile and get the job done so the secondary can drop into coverage more, so he basically needs me to be able to play edge, nose, and tackle depending on what the situation calls for," said Graves.
