One of the biggest visitors at Iowa’s junior day this past weekend was actually only a sophomore. That is 6-foot-6, 290-pound Trevor Keegan, a Class of 2019 offensive lineman from Crystal Lake South High School in Illinois. For Keegan, the trip gave him a chance to get to know the Iowa coaching staff better and learn more about the program.

“The highlight of the visit was putting on the Hawkeye jersey and jogging out with the recruits,” said Keegan. “I talked with most of the coaches and they just said keep doing what you are doing.”

Among the coaches that Keegan had a chance to sit down and talk with was Iowa’s new offensive line coach Tim Polasek, who impressed the sophomore with his enthusiasm for the game.

“Coach Polasek seems to flat out love the game of football and he will do anything to make the team better,” Keegan said. “He is a very good guy and his ideas show that he is dedicated. We plan to talk on the phone again this week.”

Last November, Keegan had a chance to make a game day visit with the Hawkeyes, which was for Iowa’s last second win over Michigan that the Class of 2019 prospect remembers well.

“I love how the whole state cherishes the Hawkeyes,” said Keegan. “It's a really cool atmosphere. I was there for the Michigan game and it was insane.”

“I like Iowa a lot and I want to keep building a relationship with them,” he continued.

Keegan, who has an early offer from Northwestern, is going to stay busy this off-season with several more college visits coming up.

“I was just at Ohio State and I’m trying to go to Michigan State, Penn State, and some other schools,” said Keegan. “I'm going to try to make it out to some SEC and ACC schools over the summer too.”
