Thanks to an ankle injury and then a case of mono, Connor McCaffery's college debut had to be put on hold for ten games. The freshman guard and son of the head coach finally made his first official appearance in an Iowa uniform and played rather well. McCaffery logged 17 minutes and scored 3 points, while handing out 4 assists in Iowa's convincing win over Southern.
