Wisconsin defensive end Josh Dinga is putting together a huge senior season with 41 tackles, 16 TFL, and 11 sacks for undefeated Sun Prairie High School. That type of production has drawn college interest from several programs including the Iowa Hawkeyes, who hosted the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Dinga for a game day visit Saturday.
“My visit was great,” said Dinga. “I loved the atmosphere of city before the game and loved the atmosphere of being on the field during warm-ups. All of the coaches and staff I talked to were great people and had a true passion for the game. It’s definitely a special place to be.”
Offensive line coach Tim Polasek is the lead recruiter for the Hawkeyes in the state of Wisconsin and continues to stay in close contact with Dinga as the recruiting process moves along.
“I’ve been talking to Coach Polasek and he said my name is big on their list and I’m being talked about,” Dinga said. “He said they have good interest and if not a scholarship, they have real interest in me being a preferred walk-on.”
Currently, Dinga holds scholarship offers from four FCS programs and continues to hear from a couple other FBS schools in addition to Iowa.
“The offers that I’ve got are from Illinois State, Northern Iowa, Indiana State, and Western Illinois,” said Dinga. “I’m also keeping in contact with Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Northern Illinois.”
