Offensive lineman Cody Ince is a no-nonsense type of player. That is why the 6-foot-5, 260-pound Wisconsin native quietly made his college decision late last night, committing to the Iowa Hawkeyes, and quickly moved onto the next order of business, which is a team camp early this morning. On his way there, we caught up with Ince to discuss his decision a little more and his future with the Hawkeyes.

Q: First, can you tell us how the commitment all went down, who you talked to at Iowa, and what their reaction was?

INCE: I talked to head coach Kirk Ferentz and he was very excited along with Coach Polasek.

Q: What were the biggest factors that won it out for Iowa?

INCE: The biggest factor was the family atmosphere down there and the small town feel. Iowa City is very welcoming and is a great place.

Q: What do the coaches see as your future there? Are you coming in at tackle or guard or could play both?

INCE: They see me at both. Their strength coach sees me at several positions. It just depends on how I do.

Q: How does it feel this morning, just having that decision out there and being done with recruiting?

INCE: It feels like a big relief. Now I can really focus from here on out.

A three-star prospect, Ince chose the Hawkeyes over scholarship offers from Minnesota, Maryland, Virginia, Purdue, Central Florida, Wyoming, New Mexico, Northern Illinois, and Central Michigan, among others.

Overall, he is the eighth commitment for the Iowa coaching staff in the Class of 2018.
