The Iowa Hawkeyes are the latest team to offer Class of 2017 prospect Joshua Blackwell from Georgia. The 6-foot-0, 175-pound Blackwell received the news from Iowa assistant coach Seth Wallace yesterday after the Hawkeyes stopped by Buford High School earlier this month.

"Coach Wallace informed me last night," Blackwell said of the Iowa offer. "I know they're a great team from last season making it to the Rose Bowl."

Listed as a three-star athlete by Rivals.com, Blackwell plays all over the field for Buford, lining up at cornerback, wide receiver, and running back, and playing a big role on special teams. The Georgia native, who placed second in the 100 meter dash at the state track meet last week with a time of 10.81 seconds, says he has no preference on position.

"I enjoy playing cornerback," said Blackwell. "I'll play anything I need to though."

The offer from Iowa is No. 20 overall for Blackwell as the Hawkeyes join Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Penn State, West Virginia, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Duke, North Carolina, Rutgers, Indiana, Iowa State, Cincinnati, Marshall, Charlotte, UAB, Massachusetts, South Alabama, and Appalachian State.

"It's pretty hectic, but I'm grateful and blessed to have these opportunities so I can't complain," said Blackwell.
