Formerly a Northern Illinois commit, Nixon reopened his recruiting after adding offers from Iowa and Purdue in January and visited both Big Ten programs. In Iowa City this past weekend, the three-star prospect told us he felt at home.

“I liked it a lot,” said Nixon. “The players made it like a family environment as well as the coaches.”

“I really liked all the people there and the fact that they had detailed information on what I want to study, criminal justice," he continued.

Overall, Nixon is commitment No. 21 for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Class of 2017.
