When the doors were opened back up to official visits this month, one of the top hoops prospects in the Class of 2022 hit the ground running.

Aidan Shaw, a 6-foot-6 forward ranked by Rivals.com as the 56th best player in his class, will end up making five official visits this month. One of those trips was to Iowa City and that took place late last week.

The talented forward from Kansas came away impressed by what he saw at Iowa and the relationship he continues to build with the Hawkeye coaches.

“The visit was great,” Shaw said. “I learned a lot about the culture in Iowa, playing style, and got to build relationships with coaches and players.”

Shaw was hosted by Iowa forward Keegan Murray on the official visit and said that the style of play he was pitched by the Hawkeye coaches is a huge selling point.

“I like their style of play,” he said. “Their playing style is fast and Coach McCaffery trust in the players making playmaking decisions. I feel like I could perform well in that type of environment.”

This month Shaw visited Oklahoma State, Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa. He will start an official visit to Maryland this week and then begin another round of visits in the fall.

Shaw also announced this weekend that he will be playing his senior year of high school at Link Academy in Branson, MO.
