WATCH: Caitlin Clark on Saturday Night Live

A week ago, Caitlin Clark was getting ready to player for the national championship in her final game in an Iowa uniform.

On Saturday night, Clark appeared on Saturday Night Live during the Weekend Update segment with hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che.

Clark cracked a few jokes at Che's expense and also shouted some past legends of the WNBA to thank them for their contributions to the sport and for paving the way for her.

"Thanks to all the great players like Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie, Cynthia Cooper, the great Dawn Staley, and my basketball hero Maya Moore," said Clark. "These are the women who kicked down the door, so I can walk inside."

Clark's teammates Kate Martin, Gabbie Marshall, and Jada Gyamfi were also in attendance at SNL.

The appearance on SNL continued an absolutely whirlwind week for Clark. It also included an event in Iowa City with her Hawkeye teammates to celebrate their outstanding 2023-24 season, during which it was announced by Iowa athletic director Beth Goetz that Clark's #22 will become the third women's basketball jersey number retired by the program, joining Megan Gustafson (#10) and Michelle Edwards (#30).

She also went to Los Angeles on Friday to receive her second-consecutive Wooden Award as the national player of the year in women's basketball.

Clark's next stop? The WNBA. The 2024 WNBA Draft is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM CT on Monday, April 15 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City. ESPN will televise the draft. Clark is the prohibitive favorite to be the #1 overall pick by the Indiana Fever.
