In our following the future update, we take a look each week during the season at how Iowa's commits are doing on the field, including our performance of the week. Join us throughout the year as we watch their progress and get ready for the future of Hawkeye football.

Performances of the week

We had a tie this week with Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Henry Geil sharing the honors.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. had 8 carries for 102 yards including a 64 yard touchdown run in Decatur Central's big 49-45 win over No. 1 ranked Roncalli on Friday. Tracy also had 3 catches and 69 yards receiving in the game. This season, Tracy has 90 carries for 819 rushing yards and 36 catches for 699 receiving yards with 16 touchdowns for Decatur Central (7-1).

Running back Henry Geil finished with 24 carries for 142 yards in Green Bay Preble's 17-14 win over Pulaski on Friday. Through 8 games this season, Geil has 190 carries for 1,270 yards and 14 touchdowns for Preble (6-2).

Other performances

Cornerback D.J. Johnson had 6 tackles, 1 pass breakup, and a fumble recovery on Friday, but saw his North Central team lose to Pike 45-28. This season, Johnson has 26 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 5 pass breakups for North Central (3-5).

Safety Julius Brents had 8 tackles and 1 pass breakup in Warren Central's 35-14 win over Carmel on Friday. In 4 games since returning from a knee injury, Brents now has 11 tackles and 1 interception this season for Warren Central (5-3).

Offensive lineman Cody Ince helped Unity pick up 223 yards including 129 on the ground in their narrow 12-7 win over Saint Croix Falls Friday. On defense, Ince added 8 tackles in the game. This season, he has 61 tackles and 13 TFL for Unity (7-1).

Defensive tackle Noah Shannon had 1 tackle and a forced fumble early Friday, but was out of the game by halftime as Oswego beat up Joliet Central 42-14. This year, Shannon has 32 tackles, 7 TFL, and 4.5 sacks for Oswego (6-1).

Linebacker Dillon Doyle had 10 tackles and 2 TFL to help Iowa City West beat Cedar Rapids Kennedy 34-20 on Friday. This season, Doyle has 39 tackles and 5 TFL on defense and 11 catches for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns on offense for West (7-0).

Defensive tackle Tyler Linderbaum had 2 TFL and a fumble recovery in Solon's 33-0 win over Mount Pleasant on Friday. This year, Linderbaum has 24 tackles, 6 TFL, and 2 sacks for Solon (7-0) who has only allowed 14 total points through 7 games.

Blocking tight end Jack Plumb, who will play offensive line in college, helped his Bay Port team stay undefeated with a 42-6 win over De Pere Friday. This year, Plumb has 2 catches for 15 yards and 2 touchdowns for Bay Port (8-0).

Samson Evans was held out for precautionary reasons after getting banged up a week ago, but with offensive lineman Jeff Jenkins leading the way, Prairie Ridge still racked up 391 yards rushing in their 55-14 win over Hampshire Friday. Evans remains at 889 yards rushing on the season for Prairie Ridge (7-0).

Tight end Anthony Torres is out for the season due to injury. His Mishawaka Penn team improved to 7-1 on the year with a 47-3 win over Elkhart Central on Friday.

Terry Roberts had 4 catches for 85 yards and 1 touchdown in Cathedral Prep's 33-23 win over De La Salle on Friday. On the season, Roberts has 16 catches for 510 yards and 6 touchdown on offense to go along with 6 tackles and 2 interceptions on defense for Cathedral Prep (7-0).

Class of 2019 tight end commit Logan Lee finished with 2 catches for 39 yards and a touchdown on offense and 6 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 sack, and a fumble recovery on defense in Orion's 35-7 win over Morrison on Friday. This season, Lee has 18 catches for 317 yards and 7 touchdowns for Orion (6-1).

Class of 2019 offensive line commit Tyler Endres helped Norwalk put up 278 yards of offense, but it was not enough as they lost to Pella 28-21 on Friday. Norwalk is now 5-2 this season.

Class of 2019 offensive line commit Ezra Miller had 7 tackles on defense, but saw his offense struggle Friday with only 88 rushing yards in their 26-20 loss to Garrigan. Defensively, Miller has 45 tackles and 7 TFL this season for Ridge View (4-3).

Class of 2019 defensive back commit Larry Tracy had 6 tackles, an interception, and a forced fumble as he helped Decatur Central knock off No. 1 ranked Roncalli 49-45 on Friday. This year, Tracy has 59 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and 3 interceptions for Decatur Central (7-1).

Finally, junior college defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon, who plans to enroll at Iowa at semester, had 2 tackles in Iowa Western's 55-13 win over Dodge City Saturday. In 6 games this season, Nixon has 21 tackles, 6 TFL, and 1.5 sacks for Iowa Western (5-1).
