The Iowa Hawkeyes have joined the race for Georgia outside linebacker JaQuez Jackson. The 6-foot-1, 216-pound Jackson, who attends Peach County High School, picked up a scholarship offer from Iowa linebackers coach Seth Wallace on Tuesday.
"It's really big because Iowa is a school that doesn't just throw out offers" said Jackson. "It really meant a lot to me that they saw my potential, my academics, and my character to grace me with one."
"Iowa is a great school and I can very well see myself in their program," he continued.
The offer from Iowa is No. 20 overall for Jackson as the Hawkeyes join schools such as Wake Forest, West Virginia, Maryland, Rutgers, Central Florida, Southern Miss, Cincinnati, and Marshall, among others, on his list.
"Iowa is definitely in the mix with my top schools without a doubt," said Jackson, who hopes to schedule a visit to Iowa City in the near future.
As a junior, Jackson led Peach County with 135 tackles and 13 TFL this past season.
