"It’s a blessing," he said of his commitment. "I’m excited and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of such a storied program."

Premium subscribers to Go Iowa Awesome were first to hear of Anderson's potential commitment, when he was FutureCasted to the Hawkeyes in June.

Recruited by Kelvin Bell and Kirk Ferentz, the 6'6", 220-pound prospect says he took to both of their personalities and respective coaching styles.

"I love both of them," he said. "Their honesty and commitment to winning and development on and off the field separated them for me."

The staff in Iowa City see a similar skillset as to what we referenced in our initial evaluation of Anderson.

"The coaches like my athleticism and length," he said. "The also told me they see the effort and motor I play with, and they like that a lot."

Anderson used his physical tools and growing game to register 76 tackles, 23 tackles for loss and seven sacks this season for the WIldcats.

In addition to playing football at Iowa, Anderson will participate in track and field in Iowa City. He'll run hurdles and serve as a jumper for the Hawkeyes.

A state champion and All-American in the triple jump, Anderson also qualified for the Missouri state track meet in the long jump and 110m hurdles. His personal records in the events are 47 feet, 4 inches in the triple, 22 feet, 7 inches in long jump and 14.59 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles.
